Welcome to the webpage of the course "Reliability of Technical Systems"

Content and learning target: The lecture includes methods of reliability estimation. Established and advanced models permit to infer from reliability of components to reliability of an entire system. Theoretical content is accompanied by numerous practical examples; software tools are introduced. The course covers probability theory, descriptive statistics, and Boolean Algebra. Techniques of system modeling and evaluation are introduced including Fault Tree analysis, Reliability Block Diagrams, and Markovian chains, which may serve for system comparisons and improvements. The application field of reliability theory is wide. It includes mechanical as well as electrical engineering and also computer science (reliability of hardware and software) etc.
